Saturday, September 15th. All campuses are affected in some way.

This upgrade was performed successfully on schedule in less than 40 minutes.

The Springfield Internet will be down starting at about 8:00 p.m. on
Saturday, September 15th for up to four hours while MOREnet and Missouri State University upgrade the
Springfield Internet router. This outage is expected to last less than two
hours, but we are reserving until midnight to cover unforeseen situations.
This upgrade will enable MOREnet, our Internet Service Provider, to implement
quality of service (QoS) features throughout their network which will ultimately
improve performance.
Springfield, Mt. Grove, and Lebanon locations will be without Internet
services during this upgrade although these sites will be able to communicate
with themselves. The common library system will be unavailable during the
outage since it is an Internet application.
West Plains users will perceive network slow-downs since the primary DNS
servers located at Springfield will be unavailable, but backup servers will take
up the load and West Plains Internet will function. New machines not
previously connected to the network in West Plains or machines that are moved
from one network to another in West Plains will not function on the network
until the Springfield link comes back up. This is because Springfield DHCP
services will not be available to West Plains during the upgrade.
West Plains dialup will also be down because all account validation occurs
through the Springfield campus. Users will be able to connect to a modem,
but they will receive validation errors and the connection will drop until
services are restored in Springfield.
